Olney is a small county seat in north-central Texas, about 140 miles northwest of Dallas. US Highway 380 runs east-west through town toward Dallas, while State Highway 79 connects north to Wichita Falls and south through ranch country. The 1884 stone courthouse on the town square is one of Texas's oldest still in use.
