Okolona is a small crossroads city in north-central Mississippi, about 20 miles southeast of Tupelo via Highway 41. The town sits where several state routes converge in Chickasaw County's rolling farmland. Most visitors arrive on Highway 41 from Tupelo or Highway 15 from Pontotoc, while Interstate 22 provides long-distance access about 30 miles north. Downtown preserves several original 1920s storefronts with their pressed tin ceilings still intact.
