Okay is a tiny Oklahoma town of about 400 people located 20 miles southeast of Tulsa on US Highway 69. The main route is US 69 north to Tulsa or south toward McAlester, with Highway 16 providing east-west connections. Most trips are short commutes to the Tulsa area for work and shopping. The town earned its unusual name in the early 1900s when someone casually said "okay" during discussions about what to call the new community.
