Okawville is a farming town of about 1,300 people in south-central Illinois, roughly 50 miles southeast of St. Louis. Take I-64 east to Nashville, then Route 127 south, or approach from I-57 via Route 15 and 127. The town hosts an annual September festival featuring what's billed as southern Illinois' largest fish fry, serving over 3,000 pounds of catfish.
