Oconomowoc is a lake town in southeastern Wisconsin, 35 miles west of Milwaukee via I-94. The city sits between several lakes in the scenic Kettle Moraine region, with Highway 67 running north-south through downtown and Highway 16 providing an east-west route. Most visitors come from Milwaukee for lake activities or use I-94 traveling between Madison and Milwaukee. The name comes from a Potawatomi word meaning "where the water falls," referring to the historic dam and waterfall still operating downtown.
