Oceana is Wyoming County's seat, nestled in southern West Virginia's Appalachian foothills along the Guyandotte River. US Route 52 is the main access road, running north to Charleston (60 miles) and south toward Virginia. Most traffic is local, under 30 miles to nearby communities. The 1906 red brick courthouse dominates downtown with its distinctive clock tower.
