Oberlin is a small Louisiana city of 1,800 people in Allen Parish, surrounded by pine forests and farmland. US Highway 165 runs through town, connecting north to Alexandria (45 miles) and south to I-10 near Lake Charles. The area's economy relies on timber and rice farming.
