Oakwood is a farming town of 52 people in northwestern Oklahoma, about 90 miles from Oklahoma City via I-40 west to US-183 north. The main route from Enid runs 45 miles on US-412 west to US-183 south through wheat and cattle country. The town's massive grain elevator towers over Highway 183, serving as a landmark visible for miles across the prairie.
