Oakwood is a tiny Clay County community of 142 people just northeast of Kansas City along the Missouri River. Take I-35 north from KC or Highway 210 from the east to reach this river valley settlement. Kansas City International Airport is about 25 miles away. The town sits where Missouri's rolling hills meet the metro area, near historic steamboat landing sites from the 1800s.
