Oakville is a small timber town of about 900 people in southwestern Washington's Grays Harbor County. Highway 12 runs right through town, connecting it to Aberdeen 20 miles west and Centralia 25 miles east. Most visitors arrive via I-5 from Seattle or Portland, exiting at Centralia for the scenic drive through Douglas fir forests. The town made national news in 1994 when mysterious gelatinous blobs fell from the sky instead of rain.
