Oakland is a small Oklahoma town of about 1,100 people in Marshall County, positioned along Highway 70 between Ardmore and Durant. The community sits in rolling prairie country dotted with oak groves, about 20 miles east of Interstate 35. Most visitors arrive via Highway 70 from either direction, while Highway 32 provides north-south access to Madill and Lake Texoma. The area features several small lakes created from former gravel pits that have become local fishing destinations.
