Oakland is a small farming town in north-central Mississippi with about 400 residents. Highway 315 runs through the center, connecting to Interstate 55 via Grenada about 30 miles east. The area is known for cotton farming and timber operations. Most notable is the historic Oakland Presbyterian Church from 1856, one of the county's oldest continuously operating churches.
