Oakdale is a farming town of 355 people in north-central Nebraska, about 20 miles northwest of Norfolk via Highway 275. The town sits in the Elkhorn River valley surrounded by corn and soybean fields. Highway 275 connects east to Norfolk and the larger Highway 81 corridor. The grain elevator towers over the prairie, visible for miles across the flat landscape.
