Oak Ridge is a small city of about 7,700 people in Guilford County, roughly 20 miles northwest of Greensboro via Highway 68. The town sits in North Carolina's Piedmont hills and connects to I-40 for regional travel, with Piedmont Triad International Airport 25 miles southeast. Oak Ridge Military Academy, founded in 1852, operates as one of the few remaining military boarding schools in the Southeast.
