O'Neill is a small agricultural hub in Nebraska's Sandhills where US highways 20 and 281 intersect. The town of 3,600 serves as Holt County's seat and connects to Norfolk (60 miles southeast) and Valentine (90 miles west) via Highway 20. O'Neill calls itself the "Irish Capital of Nebraska" and hosts one of the Midwest's largest St. Patrick's Day parades outside major cities.
