Nyssa is a small farming town in eastern Oregon's high desert, just three miles from Idaho along the Snake River. Most visitors reach it by taking I-84 to Ontario, then driving 12 miles north on US 201. The area is known as the "Thunderegg Capital of Oregon" for the geodes found in nearby hills, celebrated each June during Thunderegg Days.
