Nutter Fort is a small West Virginia town of about 2,000 people located 10 miles south of Clarksburg along US Route 19. The community sits in the Appalachian foothills beside the West Fork River, with Interstate 79 about 15 minutes east providing connections to Pittsburgh and Charleston. North Central West Virginia Airport is roughly 20 miles northeast. The town gets its name from an actual frontier fort built by Thomas Nutter in the 1770s.
