Nunez is a tiny farming community in central Georgia, about an hour northwest of Savannah via US Highway 80. With just over 100 residents, it sits in rolling agricultural country typical of Georgia's coastal plain. The main route is US 80, which connects Savannah to Dublin and carries both long-distance traffic and local farm-to-market trips. The town was named after a Spanish explorer from Georgia's colonial period.
