North Hodge is a tiny Jackson Parish town of 500 people in Louisiana's piney woods, reached via US 167 about 45 miles southeast of Monroe. Most traffic comes from Ruston (20 miles north) or continues toward Alexandria. The humid climate and rolling terrain mix small farms with timber country. The nearby Dugdemona River winds through cypress swamps just east of town.
