North Aurora is a Fox River city in Kane County, about 45 miles west of Chicago via Interstate 88. Route 31 runs north-south through town, connecting to Aurora and Elgin, while scenic Route 25 follows the river's eastern bank. Most visitors use I-88 for longer trips, with Routes 31 and 56 handling local traffic. The city preserves a rare bur oak savanna at Oakhurst Forest Preserve.
