Norris is a small planned community in East Tennessee, about 25 miles northwest of Knoxville via I-75 and State Route 61. Built in the 1930s as part of the New Deal's Tennessee Valley Authority project, it's one of the country's best-preserved examples of Depression-era town planning. The Norris Dam, completed in 1936, was TVA's first major project and created the 73-mile-long Norris Lake.
