Normangee is a small east Texas town of 800 people in Leon County's rolling pine country. Take Highway 75 north from Madisonville (15 miles) or drive about 35 miles from College Station via Highway 21 west to Madisonville, then north on 75. The town sits along the old railroad corridor between the Brazos and Navasota river valleys. Its 1936 limestone courthouse remains one of the region's few active Depression-era county buildings.
