Noonday is a small East Texas community of about 700 people, located 15 miles southeast of Tyler via State Highway 155. Most visitors arrive from Tyler on this direct 20-minute drive, while longer trips use Interstate 20 through Tyler. The town sits in rolling pine country with a humid subtropical climate. It got its name when a train conductor called out "noon day" at the local depot.
