Nisswa is a classic Minnesota lake town about 130 miles north of the Twin Cities via Highway 371. The town sits among dozens of lakes in the Brainerd area, transforming from a quiet winter spot to a busy summer resort destination. Highway 371 runs right through town, connecting to Brainerd 10 miles south, while Highway 25 provides the main east-west route. The restored 1920s train depot on the main street still displays vintage railroad cars on the original tracks.
