Nisland is a tiny farming town of 109 people in western South Dakota's Butte County, sitting along US Highway 212 about 15 miles west of Belle Fourche. Most visitors arrive via Interstate 90 and Highway 34 through Belle Fourche, or from the north via Highway 85. The town's grain elevator towers over the surrounding wheat fields as the most prominent landmark for miles.
