Nickerson is a small Kansas town of about 1,000 people located on US Highway 50, roughly 20 miles northwest of Hutchinson. Most visitors pass through on US 50 while crossing the state, while locals take Highway 96 south to Hutchinson for services. The town sits in typical Great Plains farmland and is dominated by a historic grain elevator complex that's visible for miles across the flat prairie landscape.
