Nicholson is a small borough in Wyoming County's rolling hills, connected mainly by State Route 92. The highway runs north-south through town, linking to Tunkhannock 15 miles south and US Route 6 for regional travel. Interstate 81 sits about 20 miles west near Clarks Summit for longer trips to Scranton. The massive Tunkhannock Creek Viaduct, a 240-foot-high concrete railroad bridge from 1915, dominates the valley as one of the world's largest concrete structures.
