Nichols is a small farming town in southeastern Iowa with 373 residents, accessed primarily via Highway 22. The route connects east to Muscatine in 15 minutes and west toward Kalona's Amish country. Interstate 80 runs 25 miles north through Iowa City for longer trips. The town preserves its original 1800s street grid within just four blocks around Highway 22 and Main Street.
