Newtown is a tiny farming community of 200 people in western Indiana's Fountain County, about 25 miles northwest of Lafayette. State Route 55 runs north-south through town, connecting to US-52 for access to Lafayette and Indianapolis. The area sits in classic Midwest agricultural country with flat farmland stretching in all directions. Newtown maintains one of Indiana's smallest post offices, still operating from its longtime community building.
