Newport is the Jackson County seat in northeast Arkansas, positioned along the White River about 90 miles from Little Rock. Highway 67 provides the main route from major cities, while Highway 14 connects locally to Batesville and smaller Delta towns. The city features historic downtown blocks and sits in rolling hills where the Ozarks meet the Delta. Newport operates one of Arkansas's few remaining steamboat replicas for White River dinner cruises.
