Newkirk is a small farming town in northern Oklahoma, about 15 miles from the Kansas border. US Highway 77 runs right through the middle of town, connecting it to Ponca City 12 miles south and Interstate 35 near Perry about 45 miles away. Most visitors are passing through on US 77 or heading to nearby agricultural businesses. The town's towering grain elevator serves as a landmark visible for miles across the prairie.
