Newfield is a small Gloucester County borough of 1,800 people along Route 40 in southern New Jersey. It's about 30 miles southeast of Philadelphia via I-76 west to Route 42 south, then Route 40 west, or accessible from Route 55. The flat terrain between the Delaware River and Pine Barrens makes for easy driving year-round. The town's standout attraction is its 1823 one-room schoolhouse on Ye Greate Street, now a local history museum.
