Newcastle is a small Wyoming city of about 3,300 people located along US Highway 16, roughly 50 miles west of the South Dakota border. The main routes are US 16 (connecting to Rapid City) and US 85 (running north-south through the state). It serves as the Weston County seat in ranch and energy country. The 1911 red brick courthouse dominates the historic town square.
