Newcastle is a small farming community in northeastern Nebraska, about 15 miles west of Sioux City via Highway 20. With under 400 residents, it sits amid corn and soybean fields in Dixon County's rolling countryside. The main route is Highway 20 from Sioux City through Ponca, while longer trips from Omaha go north on Highway 77 then west. The town's 1888 one-room schoolhouse still stands as a piece of pioneer history.
