Newbern is a small farming town in northwest Tennessee, about 20 miles from Dyersburg via Highway 78. The main routes are Highway 78 east-west and State Route 211 north-south, with I-155 near Dyersburg providing interstate access. This community of 3,300 sits in the Obion River valley and was Tennessee's first dry county from 1877 to 2012.
