New Town sits on Lake Sakakawea's eastern shore in northwestern North Dakota, about 60 miles northeast of Williston via US Highway 23. The town serves oil industry workers and visitors to Four Bears Casino Resort. Most traffic arrives on US 23 from Williston or connects from Highway 2 near Parshall. It's the headquarters for the Three Affiliated Tribes.
