New Hebron is a small Lawrence County town of about 500 people in southern Mississippi's pine country. Highway 84 runs right through town, connecting to Jackson (70 miles northeast via I-55) and Hattiesburg (45 miles southeast). Most locals use Highway 35 north to reach I-55 for longer trips. The town hosts an annual Watermelon Festival each summer that's been running since 1979.
