Nevada, a small Collin County city of about 1,300 people, sits 45 miles northeast of Dallas via Highway 78. Most visitors arrive from Dallas using Interstate 30 east to Rockwall, then Highway 276 north. The 25-mile drive from Plano follows Highway 5 and local roads. This former farming community maintains its small-town character while serving Dallas commuters. The city hall doubles as the volunteer fire department headquarters.
