Nesquehoning is a small Coal Region town in Carbon County, about 25 miles north of Allentown via Routes 309 and 54. The main access is Route 54, which connects directly to Hazleton 15 miles west and provides the primary east-west corridor through town. This former mining community of 3,300 sits in a valley along Nesquehoning Creek in the Pocono foothills. The town's St. Nicholas Breaker, a massive former coal processing facility, still dominates the landscape as a reminder of the area's industrial heritage.
