Neponset is a small Bureau County village along the historic Hennepin Canal, about 100 miles southwest of Chicago. Take I-80 to Route 26 north, then follow local roads into town. The area sits in flat farming country with a continental climate and maintains one of the original 1890s canal locks right in the village center.
