Nelson is a tiny farming community of 124 people in central Missouri's Saline County, about 15 miles northeast of Marshall via Highway 41. From Kansas City, take I-70 east to Highway 65 north, then Highway 41. The town sits among rolling corn and soybean fields typical of Missouri's agricultural heartland. Its vintage concrete grain elevator still operates and dominates the skyline.
