Neligh is a small county seat in north-central Nebraska's farm country, 25 miles west of Norfolk on Highway 275. The town of 1,515 sits in the Elkhorn River valley and serves as a regional agricultural hub. Highway 14 provides the main north-south route, while Highway 275 connects east to Norfolk and west to O'Neill. The historic 1873 flour mill still operates using original millstones powered by the Elkhorn River.
