Nederland sits 17 miles west of Boulder at 8,236 feet, reached via the winding Highway 119 through Boulder Canyon. This former mining town serves as the gateway to Indian Peaks Wilderness, with the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway connecting north to Estes Park. The town famously hosts Frozen Dead Guy Days each March, celebrating a Norwegian man whose frozen body has been stored in a local shed since 1993.
