Nectar is a tiny Alabama community of 460 people nestled in Blount County's rolling hills, about 35 miles northeast of Birmingham. Reach it via I-65 north to Exit 284, then Highway 160 east through peaceful farm country. The town earned its name from remarkably sweet-tasting water that bubbles up from natural springs throughout the area.
