Neche sits three miles from the Canadian border in northeast North Dakota's farm country. Most visitors arrive via I-29, taking Exit 215 at Pembina and following Highway 18 west. The town connects locals to border crossings at Pembina (18 miles east) and serves long-distance travelers heading between Grand Forks and Canada. The working grain elevator towers over the prairie, still collecting crops from surrounding wheat fields during harvest.
