Nebo is a tiny Hopkins County community of just 217 people in western Kentucky's coal country. State Route 62 runs right through town, connecting it to Madisonville 15 miles northeast and other regional spots. Most visitors arrive via the Western Kentucky Parkway at Exit 40, then head north on local roads. The town sits in the gently rolling Western Kentucky Coal Field and gets its name from the biblical Mount Nebo.
