Most visitors arrive from Amarillo (65 miles northeast via I-27 and Highway 86) or from Lubbock through Tulia. The town sits on flat High Plains prairie with hot summers and cold winters. Founded by German Catholic immigrants in 1902, Nazareth is known for Holy Family Catholic Church, whose twin spires can be spotted for miles across the surrounding farmland.
