Nauvoo is a small Walker County community of 189 people in north-central Alabama's rolling hills. Most visitors drive about an hour from Birmingham via I-65 and I-22, or from Tuscaloosa using Highway 69 north. The town takes its name from Hebrew meaning "beautiful place," and the historic cemetery offers scenic views across the surrounding countryside.
