Nanticoke is a small river city in northeastern Pennsylvania's coal country, about 10 miles from Wilkes-Barre via I-81 and Route 29. The town sits where the Susquehanna River curves through the Wyoming Valley, surrounded by wooded hills. Most visitors arrive on I-81 (Exit 170) or scenic Route 11 along the river. The highlight is the historic South Street Bridge, featuring a massive concrete arch that was once the world's longest single span.
