Myrtle is a small town of 771 people in northeastern Mississippi's Union County, about 15 miles from New Albany and 35 miles from Oxford. Highway 30 runs through town, connecting to Interstate 22 twenty miles north for access to Memphis and Birmingham. The area features rolling hills and mixed forests typical of north Mississippi. The town preserves a restored 1920s one-room schoolhouse that now serves as a local history museum.
